Even though suitcase is my loyal companion on my weekly travels from Bela krajina to Ljubljana, where I am finishing with my master studies of law, I discovered a while back that I prefer using my backpack and go wandering anywhere but our lovely capital city. During the weekends my backpack is full of my scouting gear and follows me around on my scout adventures in nature as a scout leader. But anytime I get a chance I grab my backpack and go out to the world – whether it's close or far away!
Lately I discovered that I prefer hitting the road spontaneously without any major plans, even though I would describe myself as a very organized and precise person. Perhaps this might be a consequence of my growing enthusiasm over hitch-hiking and couch-surfing (which is basically a version of hitch-hiking, just that instead of a car you “hitch-hike” a bed).
My wish of spontaneity and new adventures lead me to becoming a volunteer at Hostelling International Slovenia and I am sure this is just a beginning of a new and interesting chapter of my life.
