Meet Slovenia in a bit other way

Our country Slovenia hides great fairness we often do not appreciate it. We often drive through beautiful landscapes, but we do not take the time to admire everything that surrounds us. A lot of associations have been looking for ways of drawing attention of our young ones, so they would learn about the pearls of our country, but Youth Association Počitniško društvo Kažipot have put their ideas together and created a project Meet Slovenia.

The project has been in progress for quite a long time. People, who are collaborating in it are 15-year olds from elementary schools of Velenje and their geography teachers. Project is not earmarked just for them, but also for representatives of youth touristic organizations.

The main purpose of this project is revealed in its name – young people are going to get to know Slovenian cities through active cooperation. One of the main purposes is also connecting participants and building friendships all over Velenje or even Slovenia. To attain that, they have opened a forum on a website www.kazipot.si/spoznajmo-slovenijo .

All the participants are going to learn a lot through this project, such as public performance, working in groups and certainly geography. They are going to evolve in young travellers, who can travel around the world and discover its beauty in the right way.

The project Meet Slovenia has its main part in promotion of Velenje. The primary advertising will be performed through the movie Small and big stars of Velenje. It is going to be recorded by the pupils and their mentors. With this film they are also going to earmark the 50th anniversary of Velenje.

The project is making a lot of progress. Right now they are preparing for regional competition and filming a movie.

And for the conclusion, the author of this project, Uroš Ivančič, said: »We have no doubts in our success, we just hope that our and our participants expectations are going to be satisfied.«
