The Swiss Youth Hostels are a ZEWO certified non-profit organisation, which acts politically and confessionally neutral. The organisation communicates trust, safety and security with its long lasting concept of simple rooms and well furnished lounges. The Swiss Youth Hostels want to stay low-priced but on the other hand, they pay big attention to high quality and advance socially and environmentally responsible tourism. The Youth Hostels are the most important organisation for youth and family tourism in Switzerland.
Most of the hostels have a great location. Often, the buildings have an exiting past or are built with an impressive architecture. There are some romantic castles and manorial villas, some comfortable country houses and also some pulsatile modern city houses. All over Switzerland there is a range of 57 Hostels. Alike the diversity of the hostels there is also the variety of offers for the different kind of guests.

The “Top Destinations” Youth Hostels are situated in 14 famous Swiss cities. For example Zurich, Basel, Lausanne, Zermatt and etc. The Hostels are centrally located, well accessible and stay open 24 hours. They are the meeting point for travellers, families, young people and everyone who is young-at-heart. It is an uncomplicated place to meet people from all over the world. Most of these hostels have single and double rooms.
Environmental friendly
The Swiss Youth Hostels have been systematically involved with environmental friendly offers for a long time. Since 10 years, the goal of an environmental friendly management is anchored in the overall concept of the company. The goal until 2011 is to certify all Swiss Youth Hostels with the EU-environmental label and the Capricorn label. Many earned Milestones in the past show the success of these efforts. Since the winter season 07/08 even the guests of the Swiss Youth Hostels can make an active contribution to the climate protection. In cooperation with myclimate, a well known international climate protection organisation, the guests can directly compensate their emission by paying 60 Rp. per night. This contribution is used for other climate projects.
