Brand new Red Mountain Resort Hostel set to join the HI family later this year
Hostelling International Canada Pacific Mountain Region is pleased to announce that a new hostel, at RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, British Columbia, will be joining the HI Canada family when it opens on December 18th, 2018. The hostel, in true Red Mountain fashion, will be called “Nowhere Special”.
“We’re always looking to expand HI Canada’s presence in Western Canada and have enjoyed working in an advisory capacity with the staff at RED Mountain Resort on this exciting project,” says Alistair McLean, CEO of HI Canada Pacific Mountain Region. “Alongside our existing affiliate hostels in Fernie and Nelson, not to mention our extensive network throughout the Rockies, we’re pleased to bring even more budget-friendly options to travellers in some of Canada’s top year-round outdoor adventure destinations.”
The new hostel is located at the base of RED Mountain Resort, two minutes from the lifts, and will offer a modern take on classic hostel amenities like shared and private rooms with space for 82 guests, bike and ski storage, a fully-equipped kitchen and, of course, cozy gathering spaces like a comfy tech-friendly lounge and outdoor firepit.
HI RED Mountain, Nowhere Special will be independently owned and operated by a joint venture between RED Mountain Acquisition Corp and CBT Real Estate Investment Corp. It joins the HI Canada network through its affiliation program, alongside eight other affiliate hostels in the province. The hostel will offer HI members from around the world a preferred rate on all room options, while benefiting from Hostelling International’s worldwide brand recognition.
HI RED Mountain, Nowhere Special is one of two new HI hostels opening in the next 12 months. Construction on HI’s own new HI Jasper hostel is underway within the Jasper townsite. It is set to replace the original HI Jasper hostel, just outside of town on Whistler Mountain, in May 2019.
HI RED Mountain, Nowhere Special and HI Jasper are now taking reservations. Bookings can be made online at hihostels.ca.
