Hostel Brežice - hiker’s and cyclist’s friendly hostel

In the end of 2011 Mc Hostel Brežice responded to the call of Slovenian tourist organisation (STO) who evaluates accommodation facilities by the criteria of hiker and cyclist marketing standards (HMS and CMS) for obtaining a status of hiker’s and cyclist’s hotel. Accommodation facilities which fulfil HMC and CMS criteria are entitled to the sign of hiking/cycling hotel or other accommodation facility of adequate level (5-level rating; 1 is lowest, 5 is highest), which shows a level of specialization of establishment for hiking/cycling activities.

We’ve decided to apply to STO’s call with the desire for greater recognition of hiker and cyclist products and services, for promoting growth of quality tourist offer and accompanying offers for hikers and cyclists, to distinguish its own offer from competitors’, to improve hiking and cycling connected service marketing and consequently to utilise potentials in a better manner.

Mc Hostel Brežice obtained 4 hikers rating which means that in addition to accommodation facilities we also offer constant information in Slovenian and at least two foreign languages, multi-day hiking programmes with hiking guides, we enable use of saunas and swimming pools in surrounding area and we offer special accommodation arrangements. We also offer hiking equipment (hiking backpack, special glasses and specific nutrition for sportsmen) and internet corner with access to other important information relevant to hikers.

In addition to hiker rating MC Hostel Brežice also got a special rating for its cyclist offer. It obtained three wheel rating on the five-wheeled bike symbol. That means that we offer ongoing information about cycling supply, cycling maps and guides, we have our own bicycles with “bicycle garage”, enabled access to free internet, designed programmes for multi-day cycling tours, we provide basic bicycle service, etc.
