The European coastal city of Rotterdam, with the largest port in Europe, has grown from a small fishing village formed along the Rotte River to the second-largest city in the Netherlands. Rotterdam is a city with a population of one million people today. Rotterdam became a cultural centre and an urban environment with interesting architecture after the Second World War, when Rotterdam was completely rebuilt after its destruction. Miniworld Rotterdam, or a miniature model of Rotterdam's city infrastructure, presents the world of the Dutch capital as a full day, lasting 24 minutes. The model of Rotterdam urbanism stretches over 535 square meters and with 27,000 residents creates a simulation of life in the city.
