In the past months, HI Hostels Brasil has been investing in broadening and varying its offer of hostels in the country. One of the new members is Aju Hostel. This is the first hostel to open in Aracaju, the capital of the state of Sergipe, in the Northeast of Brazil. To mark the opening, Hostelling International Brasil´s vice-president, Ramis Bedran, made a lecture in the city to Tourism students from the Federal University of Sergipe. In his speech, Mr.Bedran talked about the quality standards of Hostelling International to a full auditorium.
"They were very curious and participative. Since it is the first hostel in the city, I guess they really embraced the cause. Many of them had traveled to other cities and stayed in hostels, so they felt that Aracaju was lacking this type of accommodations. They asked a lot of questions about how Hostelling International works, the membership card and the destinations we are in.", said Mr.Bedran.
Besides
Aju Hostel, HI Brasil is in negotiations with other ten hostels. The objective is to grow 20% this year. Among these newcomers, there will be at least two desing hostels, a jungle hostel and others specialized in surf and kitesurfing.
