Between Nature and the City
Travel to Taiwan, a picturesque island and one of the most diverse tourist destinations in Asia. The island is rich in natural beauty and high-tech products. Visit Hualien, a bustling city on the eastern coast and a perfect starting point for a visit to the cliffs and the breath-taking Taroko Gorge.
There you’ll find the Hualien Wow hostel, a hostel that’s really wow. Its owner loves to travel and wants the hostel to be a green, thoughtful and warm place for all travellers. The hostel has recently been renovated and it now boasts a new look. Local materials were used for the renovation, such as stone and wood. It is unique in that recycled materials were also used during renovation, such as old window frames and old wood. It was important for the hostel to be attractive and environmentally friendly when it came to the hostel’s interior design. Breath-taking designer achievements on every staircase are particularly noteworthy. Being a two-minute walk from the train station, the hostel also has an ideal location.
When you’re done admiring the hostel, head out and explore the surroundings. We recommend that you head to Taroko National Park, the second largest park on the island that’s great for a break from the urban noise and the smog. Admire the park’s cliffs and beaches and take a trip to the heart of the gorge in a true mountain landscape, all the way to the majestic waterfalls. The trail leads deep through breath-taking rocks. We recommend that you take the private tour, so you won’t be annoyed by noisy people. Unusual shapes abound all around that were formed by water. Peculiarly shaped caves with even more unusual names will definitely catch your attention. There are around 50 three-thousanders in Taiwan, so you can satisfy your long-standing desire to climb one. And if you don’t succeed climbing to the top, you can still enjoy trekking on low hills which still offer gorgeous views.
