Welcome to Ocón

Ocon Township of La Rioja, which consists of seven towns: Aldealobos, Los Molinos, Las Ruedas, Pipaona, Santa Lucia, La Villa and Oteruelo (uninhabited) located between the Ebro Valley and Sierra La Hez. It’s also located next to Sierra La Hez, next to the Biosphere Reserve of La Rioja, which makes this hostel a place of outstanding natural beauty for the development of activities and nature walks .

This small town of La Rioja offers a varied natural, cultural, historical, archeological, etc ... that makes it unique to visitors and tourists who come here, offering a quality rural tourism.

The Youth Hostel of Ocon, located in the town of La Villa de Ocon, offers visitors a superb panoramic where you can see the whole valley of Ocon, Valley Jubera low and even the Ribera de Navarra.

This hostel was a renovated building formerly located where the town hall of La Villa de Ocon, has a capacity of 26 beds and consists of three levels:

On the ground floor: kitchen (fully equipped), living room, storage room and a bathroom-toilet.

On the first floor there is: Two rooms with three bunk beds (6 beds), a lookout room with two bunk beds (4 beds) and different baths / showers.

The second floor: has a common room with five berths (10 beds), a living room with mountain views as well as bathrooms and showers.

The hostellers have different alternatives during their stay in Ocon:
- Guided tour and essential to Windmill Ocon, so far unique in La Rioja, replication and reconstruction of the remains of the original oconense mill, dating from the XIV-XV.
- Visit the archaeological site of Parpalinas, now under consideration, which are important findings of Visigothic settlement possible.
- Visits to cultural and religious heritage of the different populations, city significant examples: Chapel of Christ, Source of Saints Cosmas and Damian St. (in the past were attributed healing properties), St. Michael's Church, remains of the Castle Ocon ...

You can also make the horse riding equestrian Itinerary Ocon (IE-006), recently approved by the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, or by mountain bike routes in different places of the municipality.
