As the result of a very productive collaboration between the Slovenian Red Cross and the Popotniško združenje Slovenije (Slovenian Hosteling International representative) we signed a treaty of the agreement, where 669 beds at the complex of the Youth resort and spa Debeli Rtič became a part of the world wide chain of youth hostels of the International Youth Hostel Federation.
After a few year trial period with only one of the accommodation facilities of the
Youth resort and spa Debeli Rtič the representatives of the Popotniško združenje Slovenije and Slovenian Red Cross decided to encorporate the whole complex in the international chain of youth hostels.
Young and less young travellers, which make such travel their way of life, will now get to enjoy the entire complex with six accommodating facilities. Some of them seem more Spartan and have multi-bedded rooms, while other reach the level of a three star hotel and can cope with the needs of more demanding guests.
If we add the quality to the rest of what we have to offer (a covered pool with heated sea water, conference halls…) we get a package at
Youth Hostel Debeli Rtič which is appropriate for individuals, families, demanding guests and groups.
With 669 beds at the whole complex it is among the bigger if not the biggest accommodation hostel in Europe, while at the same time it offers its guests a quality board and a wide variety of activities – or if you prefer, just a quiet walk in the olive tree orchard.
Youth Hostel Debeli Rtič is half way between Koper and Trieste, easily accessible to guests for it is only 60km from the international airport and 15km from the city and port of Trieste and only 10km from the port and city of Koper. Youth Hostel Debeli Rtič also offers a large parking place.
By including the Youth resort and spa Debeli Rtič the Slovenian, but also European and world network of youth hostels became richer and has added a high class accommodation with numerous activities for its visitors.
