Where to in the Valley of Drava?

If you want to relax in the shade near the river, or if you find yourself on an organized or accidental trip through the valley of Drava, we recommend you to visit the wool spinning manufacture SOVEN in Selnica ob Dravi, one of the few, if not the only wool spinning manufacture in Slovenia. They use only Slovenian wool. Their specialty is to make as many products from wool and thus they try to help Slovenian sheep owners to gain the most from their labor. We know, that unfortunately a lot of Slovenian wool ends up in furnaces.
 
In Soven we’ll show you the entire process our wool goes through before you get the final product. We will also show you the most common household work – knitting. In our exhibition saloon you can also buy our products. It’s open in summer between 9am to 4 pm on weekdays and from 9am until noon on Saturdays.

This year Soven celebrates the 10th anniversary and thus we’re offering special surprise for visitors every Saturday until the end of August – demonstrations of handwork with wool as well as nice natural gifts and discounts for larger purchases. We’d like to ask you though to announce your arrival prior to your visit.
 
Upon your request we also organize a sightseeing tour to Fala hydro plant (the oldest on Drava and in Slovenia), the orchard Košan, floats on Drava and a gourmand meal at the restaurant. Welcom to the Valley of Drava, welcome to Selnica ob Dravi.
