When the Christmas markets in Cologne open their gates on the last Monday before Advent, millions of visitors from around the world delight at the goods on sale at the quaintly designed huts.

And there is lot more to discover: Visit the Cathedral, the historic buildings, stroll through the Old Town, take a boat trip on the river Rhine, explore museums and galleries, take a promenade through the Rhine meadows park area, enjoy a concert at the Philharmonie Concert Hall, do a good long pub crawl, take a stroll through the Zoo or drop into one of the numerous theatres.

Just perfect: right on the Rhine, only 12 km away from Cologne (Köln-Bonn) Airport and opposite Cologne-Deutz railway station which is also a stop for many ICE trains. All the sights are within easy walking distance or can be reached by the S-Bahn in just two minutes – that’s how close the Cologne sights are for City-Hostel guests.

The modern, comfortable facilities guarantee a pleasant stay. There are 506 beds in 157 rooms all of them with ensuite shower and WC facilities. Recently 27 rooms have been completely renovated. Eight barrier-free rooms on the ground and first floor are suitable for wheelchair users.
