It is not really important in which language you say it, Bovec (Slovenia) can be described in one single word. During spring or summer, this place can be great fun to everybody considering all the different activities it has to offer. Autumn and winter in Bovec are a relaxing time to visit, but the view is just beautiful the whole year. Either with snowy or sunny days it is always worth the visit.

The most popular activities are: mountain biking, hiking, caving, rafting, kayaking, canyoning, zip-lining etc. There are many things to do around Bovec and one day is not really enough to enjoy the beauty of the place. Bovec may seem like a small town but, do not be fooled. Instead, take a few days to see it with your own eyes and learn what is so interesting about this wonderful place.
I went to Bovec for 3 days recently and I still missed some activities. However the few that I did experience were awesome.

For many people, when you mention Bovec, the Soča river is the first thing that comes to their mind. The river's emerald green colours are something that you must really see to believe. It is easy to find a nice spot along the riverbank to take a break from driving or riding a bike. There are also many picnic places arranged so that people can take a bite or just stretch their legs. At Soča you will find beautiful white stones and nice shores to rest. I recommend bringing some beach foldable chairs, a book and a good mood to enjoy the tranquillity of this special place.
As I mentioned before you need more than one day to explore Bovec. I strongly advise the
Hostel Bovec it is a very nice place, with friendly staff and only a few meters from the heart of the town. The hostel has easy parking facilities, kitchen facilities, clean bedrooms and bathrooms, and breakfast is included. A big plus so that you may consider the Hostel Bovec is that you can get a discount for the attractions and activities in Bovec. Whatever you may need or want to try, the staff will advise you and help you to make a reservation with a tourist agency for the offered activities.
Adventure mood ON.
Have your heard about the Zip-line? If you would like to get a dose of adrenaline, the
zip-line in Bovec is the perfect thing to try. It is a very long wire of 200 to 400m that goes at a 40-60km/hr speed. The whole journey last about 2hrs. There are 6 zip-lines and each one is awesome. Besides the high adrenaline adventure you also get to admire the views.
There are 2 instructors the whole way who teach you from the beginning how to use the equipment and how to deal with everything else so that you feel safe and secure.
After a good walk and some adventure one has to get hungry, am I right?
The region of Bovec offers a very delicious and traditional dish named Čompe. It is based on potatoes and sheep's cottage cheese. I know it sounds simple but it is really tasty. You should try it! Goat and sheep cheese are very popular in Bovec. You can easily find other local home made products like wine, honey, salami and liqueur -all for a reasonable price.

When thinking about Bovec one has to consider the hilly paths. In Bovec there are very steep places that can take your breath away when cycling -nevertheless to go by bike around Bovec is something you should really try. You can stop whenever and wherever you want to admire the view, to refresh yourself at the Soča river, to take a break etc. There is also a good option to do all if this even if you have a lack of fitness to go on the steep hills (like I do). The electric bike.
Let me tell you that this bike is just amazing. You can hire/rent it for an affordable price at the
Bovec Sports Centre. Now you have no excuse to not go around Bovec. :)

There is one more thing about Bovec that you shouldn't miss. Slovenia is well known for its honey. As mentioned before, you can buy honey and honey products in Bovec.
