Check out the new Byron Bay YHA

Content
Travellers heading to the beachside paradise of Byron Bay in northern New South Wales can look forward to a bigger and better YHA hostel this Australian summer, with a massive redevelopment set to be revealed in January.

With spectacular natural scenery and world-class beaches, Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most popular backpacking hotspots. Learn to surf, chill out on the beach, walk through the rainforest or along the coast, spot native Australian marine life like dolphins and turtles, and sample Byron’s famous café, bar and restaurant scene.

Located just a stroll from the beach in the heart of the town, Byron Bay YHA is getting even bigger and better. Work is underway on an extension of the hostel – including an entire brand new wing – to add extra beds and modern new facilities to the property.

What are we building from scratch?
• A three-level wing with 36 new bedrooms, a mix of multi-share, private and family rooms. This will add 103 new beds, bringing the hostel’s capacity to almost 200.
• En-suite bathrooms in all new rooms.
• An underground parking lot.
• A modern reception area.
• A lush internal courtyard packed with native Australian trees.

What are we doing to the existing hostel?
• Making the kitchen, dining area, common rooms and open space on the ground floor bigger.
• Extending our heated pool area to include a lush courtyard and BBQ area.

Byron Bay YHA also features a travel desk plus surfboard and bike hire.
