Fusine in Valromana

They have different names in Slovenian, but most importantly, the two lakes are glacier lakes, which Italians also proclaimed a national park. Two mighty mountains rise above them, Mangart and Ponce. Laghi di Fusine are a really popular destination for photographers, as they offer a beautiful view to the surrounding mountains. You can visit the lakes in every season. A walk around one lake will take you around half an hour.

Hiking Paths

There are many hiking paths around the lake, which you can conquer with children. There’s a bench every now and then so you can rest. There are also mountain hiking paths leading from the lake to the surrounding mountains. Most of these lead to Ponce or Mangart and are too difficult for children, which doesn’t mean that you won’t be conquering them when they are older. The view from the top of the mountain is definitely prettier than from the ground. The hiking paths around the lake aren’t suitable for strollers.

Time of the visit

Take a half-day or a whole day to visit the lake. Have lunch at the restaurants near the lake and play with your children. Your children will enjoy the nature the same as you. A lot of people also decide to bring their own lunch and make a picnic for themselves.

Activities by the lake

The youngest will definitely enjoy the playground and the company of other children, but you can also take a boat and enjoy the beautiful view from the middle of the lake. It is quite crowded there in the summer months as many families spend their time by these beautiful lakes. But the lakes are never isolated, so people will be there in every season.
