New hostel Central in Oslo

Content
If you arrive in Oslo by boat, you will get a sense of how the city has been constructed like an amphitheatre around the port. To sail into the port is like being greeted with a standing ovation from the whole of Oslo, being welcomed ashore into the centre of Norway’s capital city by a round of applause. It is also here, behind the solid protective walls of Akershus Fortress, that you will find Hostelling International Norway’s new flagship, safely moored in Kongens Gate. Oslo Hostel Central is centrally located, 300 metres from Karl Johans Gate and an eight minute walk from Oslo Central Station. This is where you will first set foot in Oslo if you arrive by train, bus, tram, metro or whatever other means of transport have brought you here from elsewhere in Norway or the rest of the world. This is where you can disembark and begin discovering what the city has to offer – every inch of it.

Multicultural travellers
It is much more than the name of Oslo Hostel Central that makes it into a centre. It is a gateway where you can catch up with people before setting out on your expedition to the rest of the city and country. Although it is not as easy as you think to leave this hostel. Because it’s a gateway in which it’s easy to linger. The building has just been renovated and decorated inside and out, down to the last detail. The result is one of the most vibrant and modern urban places to visit in the entire city. The hostel welcomes you, wherever you come from, with an inclusive atmosphere and a common room where people from all over Norway and the rest of the world can meet each other and swap stories and experiences.

Inspiration in the centre
However, it is still possible to move on from Oslo Hostel Central. You might hear stories from travellers who have found places to visit that you’ve never heard of. Someone may have been on an Arctic safari in Nordkyn from Mehamn Hostel. Someone else may have stayed at the hostel near Pulpit Rock, and had an unforgettable dinner overlooking the Lysefjord. A place to hear stories. A place to be inspired. You can order your next travel experience in Reception, where the staff will be happy book you into whichever hostel you choose to travel to.
