Vineyards, magnificent buildings, the Marienberg Fortress: Würzburg is welcoming its visitors with cultural treasures everywhere you look.

The youth hostel located in “Altes Mainviertel” is part of Würzburg’s heritage. In the historical building just downhill of Fortress Marienberg, diligent works have been going on for several months – now the youth hostel is reopened. The youth hostel was thoroughly modernized and offers a completely new design.

On the ground floor the dining room has now replaced the kitchen which has been moved to the first floor. Guests will also find a multifunctional conference room, lounge and bistro on ground level. With further conference rooms on the top floor, the youth hostel is perfectly equipped for conference guests.

In addition 20 guest rooms on the second and third floor have been modernized with fresh paint, new floors and furniture and en-suite bathrooms. According to the motto “Ba-Rock” the refurbishment thoughtfully combines modern accommodation with the historical air of the building. For example baroque ceiling ornaments were adorned with graffiti and thus brought into modern age.

After the successful modernization, Würzburg youth hostel now offers 238 beds and several conference rooms with technical equipment. Good to know: Nearby there are playgrounds, obstacle golf and a swimming pool as well as world-famous sights such as St. Kilian’s Cathedral and The Residence, a UNESCO world heritage site.
